CPN-UML withdraws support to Maoist Center-led govt in Karnali Province

SURKHET, March 17: The ruling Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist has decided to withdraw its support to the CPN (Maoist Center)-led government in Karnali Province.

SURKHET, March 17: The ruling Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist has decided to withdraw its support to the CPN (Maoist Center)-led government in Karnali Province.



A meeting of the party's provincial parliamentary party held on Wednesday afternoon took a decision to this effect.

The meeting also decided to recall its three ministers in the Mahendra Bahadur Shahi-led government. Shahi is a leader of the Maoist Center led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal.


Ten of the 19 UML provincial assembly members were present in the meeting. The nine members who were absent in today's meeting are said to belong to the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction of the CPN-UML.
