Dadeldhura bus accident: death toll climbs to 18

DADELDHURA, Nov 23: The death toll from Thursday’s bus accident in Dadeldhura has climbed to 18 as two more injured succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

DADELDHURA, Nov 23: The death toll from Thursday’s bus accident in Dadeldhura has climbed to 18 as two more injured succumbed to their injuries during treatment.



Earlier, ten people died on the spot and six people breathed their last during treatment after the overloaded school bus met with an accident at Raduwakhola of Amargadhi Municipality-11 in the district. 27 people were injured in the accident.

The police said 10 of the deceased passengers have been identified so far. The deceased have been identified as Chakta Dhami, 22, of Ganyadhura-3, Maya Rawal, 18, Tilak Khati, 20, of Nawadurga municipality, Tek Dhami, 17, Sashi Bika of Dipayalshigadhi municipality-4, Gopa Bhat, 25, of Shikhar municipality in Doti, Yogendra Rawal, 40, of Shikhar municipality-8, Kailash Rawal, Rohit Balayar, 16, and Puran Kadayat, 23, of Godavari municipality in Kailali.


The police have yet to identity 8 victims. Critically injured ten have been receiving treatment at Dadeldhura sub-regional hospital. Police said that the death toll may increase.


The bus belonging to Peace Zone Academy School of Banedungrisain of Doti was returning after attending the annual Dehijat Fair in Ugratara Bhagawati Temple in Dadeldhura, according to DSP Dambar Bahadur KC. The bus fell some 300 meters from the road.
