Deadline for party registration for polls ends today, Dahal and Bhattarai to register party jointly

KATHMANDU, August 16:  The deadline for party registration for the province and House of Representatives elections to be held on November 20 is ending today.



The Election Commission (EC) started the party registration program from August 7. The EC has said that the political parties should register their parties in order to compete in the upcoming polls within the office hours today.

According to the poll body, 62 parties have been registered till now. While applying for party registration, the full as well as short name of the political party, the date of its establishment, the date of registration with the EC, the address of the central office, the mailing address, telephone number, email, website and social network account must also be disclosed.


The number of office-bearers and members of the party's central executive committee, state and district committees, the date the party submitted its annual audit report to the commission, the date of the last election of the party's central level and provincial executive committee, and the number of office-bearers and members of the party's central level and central executive committee, province and district committees and the organizational structure should also be disclosed, according to the EC.


Similarly, the ruling Nepali Congress is registering the party today, while CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepal Samajwadi Party are going to the EC for joint party registration.
