On the occasion, a morning procession starting from the DDC Morang premises passed through various thoroughfares of the city. Civil servants, security personnel, political party representatives, students and the members of the general public took part in the rally. 



At a function held at the DDC premises later, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions organized to mark the democracy day. Chief District Officer Yagya Raj Koirala and Local Development Officer Shobhakar Regmi gave away the prizes. 



Earlier, the program began by garlanding the portraits of the martyrs. 



Speaking on the occasion, CDO Koirala, LDO Regmi and President of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) Bhakti Nath Majhi shed light on the importance of democracy and the need for implementation of the new constitution to sustain it. RSS
