KALIKOT, Feb 28: Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) staged demonstrations against banks and financial institutions in Kalikot.  



The CPN staged the demonstration alleging that the banks and financial institutions were defrauding the citizens by charging high interest rates.

Party's District Secretary Shaha C said that the protest was held as a warning to stop the exploitation of financial institutions and banks as well as loan sharks.


In a corner meeting held at Pratima Chowk after the protest rally in Manma Bazar, party leader Birat Si said that the state should control loan sharks and banks and financial institutions that rob citizens.


CPN has said that if the government does not take immediate steps to stop the terror of banks and financial institutions, they will be forced to launch stringent protest programs.
