KATHMANDU, Feb 15: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has seized 2100 expired cartons of Bahrasinghe brand.



According to the Department, Bahrasinge brand beer produced by Yak Brewery Company was seized from the warehouse of Climax Trading Pvt Limited.

The inspection team of the Department sealed the warehouse after the expired beers were found. Homanath Bhattarai, spokesperson of the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection, said that six million rupees worth of beer in bottles of 650 ml and 330 ml was seized.


The officials at the Department conducted a raid based on the information that the expired consumer goods may have been traded in the night time restaurant business. According to the Department, the company that sells expired beer will be prosecuted according to the law.
