ROLPA, May 16: : The departmental teams have dominated the semifinals of the ongoing first Speaker’s Cup National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Tournament in Liwang, Rolpa, on Tuesday.
Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club reached the final in men’s category, while Armed Police Force and Nepal Police advanced into the women’s category final. In the semifinals of the men’s category, Army beat Province with 27-25, 25-20, 25-21, while Nepal Police saw off Armed Police with 25-16, 25-16, 24-26, 25-21 to book the final berths.

Likewise, in the last four matches of the women’s category, Armed Police comfortably defeated Province 5 with 25-6, 25-8, 25-13, while Police overcame Army in straight sets of 25-20, 25-17, 25-10 for the summit clash. Province 4 and Army won the third place matches of men’s and women’s categories respectively played on the same day. In men’s category, Province 4 beat Armed Police with 25-20, 25-19, 25-19, while in the women’s category, Army easily defeated Province 5 with 25-19, 25-8, 25-9.
