Deuba denies his involvement in wide-body aircraft procurement process

DHANGADHI, Jan 14: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba denied his involvement in procurement of two wide-body jets by Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).



Talking to media persons in Dhangadhi on Monday, the former prime minister brushed aside the allegations saying that his name was unnecessarily dragged into the controversy.

"Allegations against me are unfair," Deuba said adding that no decision was made during his premiership in 2017 with regards to procure the two wide-body aircrafts.


"The tender process was initiated during the premiership of Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the wide-body aircraft was imported after KP Sharma Oli came to power. Nothing had happened in this regard when I also took the helm of tourism ministry after becoming the prime minister in 2017," Deuba claimed.
