The first cabinet meeting also decided to provide the risk allowance promised earlier to the frontline medical and security personnel working during the COVID-19 pandemic. The outgoing K P Oli-led government had promised them the allowance but denied that later.

Meanwhile, all the four newly-appointed ministers have assumed their office on Tuesday evening itself. Along with Prime Minister Deuba, four ministers -- Bal Krishna Khand (Home), Janardan Sharma (Finance), Gyanendra Bahadur Karki (Law) and Pampha Bhusal (Energy)-- had taken oath of office and secrecy as ministers.
