Discipline and honesty, ornament of armed police-APF IG Khanal

KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Inspector General of Armed Police Force (APF) Shailendra Khanal has conferred insignia on five newly promoted officials.



At a programme organized at APF headquarters Halchowk on Thursday, IGP Khanal conferred insignia to newly promoted Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police.


Police officials receiving insignia are Krishna Bhakta Brahmacharya, Bamshiraj Dahal, Harishanker Budhathoki, Kishor Pradhan and Rajendra Basnet.

A cabinet meeting had promoted five Senior Superintendants of Police (SSP) to Deputy Inspector General.


On the occasion, IG Khanal said discipline and honesty are the most precious ornament of the armed police and directed the command to remain further active in the service of the country and citizens in coming days.


Two held with 4.5-kg hashish


Police on Thursday netted two persons in possession of 4.5-kg hashish from Hira Brick Factory at Chandragiri municipality-10.


The arrestees are Iswar Magar, 42, and Bhakta Magar, 22, of Hajuri rural municipality-5, Dhading.


A squad deputed from Metropolis Police Circle Thankot confiscated the contraband being hidden in a bag while carrying out security screening.


Investigation into the incident is underway, informed DSP of Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu Hobindra Bogati.
