District court orders media to remove contents regarding rape case of Raute women

SURKHET, June 12: The District Court, Surkhet, has ordered social and news media to remove contents regarding the rape case of  Raute women.

SURKHET, June 12: The District Court, Surkhet, has ordered social and news media to remove contents regarding the rape case of  Raute women.



The court has also ordered to remove pictures and videos streaming in social media and take action against those posting such material and ban such sites.

Similarly, the district court has also urged the central government to issue a press statement ordering media platforms to remove contents regarding the rape case of a Raute women.


Police had arrested three persons for sexually abusing young women of the Raute community living a nomadic life in the forests on June 6. The accused allegedly sexually abused, recorded and made the video public through Facebook after getting them drunk in a hotel.
