District election monitoring committee seeks clarification from NC candidate Govinda Bhattarai of Tanahun-1

POKHARA, April 23: The district election code of conduct monitoring committee has asked Govinda Bhattarai, the Nepali Congress (NC) candidate of Tanahun-1, for an explanation for violating the election code of conduct.

The committee said that Bhattarai had sent a voice message in violation of the election code of conduct after 12:00 PM on April 20 after the start of the silent period. It has asked for an explanation for the same.


The committee has also instructed Bhattarai to submit his explanation within 24 hours. The committee has also been instructed to submit the clarification to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer at Damauli by himself or through a representative. NC cadres in the district said he received a voice message from Bhattarai asking for votes over the phone.
