BIRGUNJ, Sept 22: The District Court of Parsa on Wednesday dismissed cases filed against eight doctors by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, accusing them of using dubious credentials to become doctors.
The CIB had arrested Dr Ram Kumar Pradhan, Dr Ishadul Haq, Dr Kush Raj Giri, Dr Saroj Singh, Dr Panna Lal Patel, Dr Dinesh Kumar Teli, Dr Nimeshpal Raman and Dr Mohamad Ruhullah on June 17. A single bench of Judge Mohammad Junaid Aazad gave them a clean chit citing insufficient evidence. “They received the clearances as the charges against the doctors could not be established,” said Madav Timilsina, information officer of Parsa District Court.
Defending lawyer Ram Narayan Kurmi said the CIB team failed to show up at the court despite writing them twice. “Those doctors are providing services with license provided by the government. And that does not constitute fraud,” he said.
Seven ‘fake’ doctors arrested
Earlier on October 6, the district court had released all the eight doctors after they posted the bail amounting to Rs 200,000 to Rs 2.5 million.
