DoI Director General Adhikari pulled over in reserve pool for allegedly having contact with Dawa Lama

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The government has decided to place Jhalakram Adhikari, Director General (DG) of the Department of Immigration (DoI), on the reserve pool. This decision comes in light of credible information suggesting his consistent communication with Dawa Lama, a Chinese national who was apprehended in connection with a gold-related incident.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The government has decided to place Jhalakram Adhikari, Director General (DG) of the Department of Immigration (DoI), on the reserve pool. This decision comes in light of credible information suggesting his consistent communication with Dawa Lama, a Chinese national who was apprehended in connection with a gold-related incident.



A senior official informed Republica about this development. The move to reassign Adhikari to the reserve pool is a response to concerns regarding his association with the aforementioned Chinese individual.

During a session of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, disclosed that he had received intelligence indicating that the current Director General was engaged in regular correspondence with a Chinese national implicated in a gold smuggling case. Earlier, reports had already brought to light that there had been interactions between the Director General Adhikari and Lama on the Chinese social media platform WeChat.
