DoI opens licenses for crusher plants while issuing new guidelines

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: The government has reopened the licenses for the crusher industries asking them to abide by the new guidelines.



According to the Department of Industry (DoI), it has prepared the new standards for licensing, registration and regulations of the crushers. As per the new rule, the concerned crusher operators have to produce related papers for ‘right of way’ from the Provincial Road Division Office if the crusher plant is located close to a highway.

Similarly, they need to take approval from the local governments to use the stream and riverbanks for extraction. The crusher plants wishing to take licenses will also have to consider the situation of the academic and religious institutions, security authorities, national parks and high tension transmission lines and need to take prior approval of the authorities concerned.
