DPM Nidhi hands over Rs 1 m cheque to SSB Firing victim's family (with photo feature)

BIRATNAGAR, March 27: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for home affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has handed over a cheque for  NRs 1 million  to the family of  Basudev Shah who was shot dead by the Indian Shashastra Seema Ball(SSB)  on May 25, 2010.

Shah , a resident of a resident of the Nepal-India border area known as Bayarbana, Amahi  Bariyati-7, was killed when the Indian SSB Inspector Hitendra Singh opened fire indiscriminately after a fight broke out between Nepali side and the two SSB personnel belonging to  24 SSB Battalion.


On May 25, 2010, the two SSB personnel entered Nepal chasing smugglers. The altercation broke out after they entered Nepal.
