DPM Shrestha recuperating

KATHMANDU, Oct 21: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha is recuperating. Shrestha is receiving treatment at Peking Union Medical College in Beijing after suffering a mild heart attack on October 18.

KATHMANDU, Oct 21: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha is recuperating. Shrestha is receiving treatment at Peking Union Medical College in Beijing after suffering a mild heart attack on October 18.



DPM Shrestha started walking normally inside the hospital from this morning, said minister Shrestha's personal secretary Suresh Kaji Shrestha. After having a heart attack, a stent has been placed in his chest.

Meanwhile, Wang Xiaohong, Minister for Public Security of the People's Republic of China, visited DPM Shrestha at the hospital, wishing his best wishes for a swift recovery. Prior to this, Wang had directed the hospital not to leave any stone unturned in the treatment of DPM Shrestha. 


Similarly, the director of the Central International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party also paid a visit to DPM Shrestha and wished him a speedy recovery. 


The DPM was hospitalized due to chest complications while in Beijing to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
