KATHMANDU, June 15: Senior Secretary Dr Baikuntha Aryal has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal.
The government has appointed Dr Aryal as the Chief Secretary on Thursday. His five-year term as Secretary is expiring on June 18.

Sources said that an emergency cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to appoint Aryal as the Chief Secretary.
Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, who is going to retire in September, has been appointed as an adviser to the National Security Council, according to cabinet sources.
