"If the demands are not addressed on time, I will stage fast-unto-death in the interest of 30 million people in the country," said Dr KC, organizing a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday.

His four-point demand includes immediate approval of Medical Education Ordinance in its existing form, immediate revoking of the government ban on protests at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu, action against 43 officials of the Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Nepal Medical Council and experts as recommended by the Medical Education Probe Panel headed by Gauri Bahadur Karki, cancellation of TU Senate decision that snatched away the rights of the IOM, action against medical colleges charging fees against rules, and action against former chief justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli after investigation and immediate appointment of new chief justice by ending political intervention.

"We have been fighting for reforms in the medical education and good governance to end all kinds of irregularities in the country," said Dr KC. "If the government does not heed our call, we will be forced to stage hunger strike again in the interest of the ordinary people as ensured in the Constitution of Nepal," he added without saying when he would launch a new fast-unto-death. "We expect the coming parliamentary session to bring the Medical Education Act."
