EC to discuss with five political parties

KATHMANDU, Jan 16:  The Election Commission (EC) is holding a discussion with top five political parties today regarding the National Assembly election slated for February 7. The discussion will focus on NA election and the results of Preoperational Representatives for the federal election.

KATHMANDU, Jan 16:  The Election Commission (EC) is holding a discussion with top five political parties today regarding the National Assembly election slated for February 7. The discussion will focus on NA election and the results of Preoperational Representatives for the federal election.



EC will also inform political parties on the procedure of holding National Assembly polls. The Commission will discuss the delay in the appointment of the province chief, and other constitutional and legal complications about the NA election. A cabinet meeting at 4 PM today is likely to decide provincial chiefs and temporary capitals.

The EC has already set up office of the chief returning officers in Morang, Dhanusha, Lalitpur, Kaski, Dang, Surkhet and Doti districts for the NA election. District judges of each district have been appointed as chief returning officers.


EC summoned Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Janta Party, Nepal (RJPN) and Federal Socialist Forum, Nepal (FSFN) for the meeting.
