The Chief Electoral Officer or the Returning Officer concerned should confirm the details of the candidates or their representatives and make recommendations for those applications.

Apart from the candidate, other bodies or organizations will have to submit an application in their organization’s official letterhead  by mentioning the number of vehicle, type of vehicle and name of the vehicle user to the body or authority issuing the permission to use the vehicle on the election day.

According to EC, the bodies or organizations will have to submit their request by May 11. Details of the criteria endorsed by the EC are also available on the EC’s website.

The EC has also written to the government to close all international border crossings 48 hours before polling day until the polling is completed in order to conduct the election in free and  fair environment.

The EC has already decided to stop the cross border movement from 12PM May 10 and all kinds of internal traffic on the polling day.
