EC to go high-tech live-streaming

KATHMANDU, March 29: The Election Commission Office (ECO) is making preparations to live-stream from the polling centers deemed sensitive from the security point of view.



The live-streaming at the polling centers will be monitored from the respective district headquarters and the center. However, this live-streaming cannot be viewed publicly.


“The EC will make use of modern technology to the maximum to conduct local polls in free, peaceful and fair manner,” Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav told Republica Online, adding,  “We will live-stream from those polling stations considered sensitive from the security point of view.”

“No one can stop the upcoming local elections slated for May 14,” claimed Yadav.


He further said that the EC is holding high-level political consultations currently. The Madhesi parties are also positive about the elections, added Yadav.
