'Efforts of all needed to construct Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road'

KATHMANDU, May 28: Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire has said that the Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road should be developed to ensure better road accessibility connecting Nuwakot district to the capital city.

KATHMANDU, May 28: Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire has said that the Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road should be developed to ensure better road accessibility connecting Nuwakot district to the capital city.



Unveiling the bust of late politician Ganesh Pandit at Dupcheshwor Secondary School in Nuwakot district on Saturday, the Speaker said that all political parties should pay heed to the development endeavors of the district.


"Much has been talked about the Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road. This should begin soon. Massive transformation of Nuwakot district would be ensured after its construction," he added.

Though construction of the Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road costs high, its benefits are long-lasting, Ghimire argued.  


The project was envisioned to increase trade between Nepal and China through Rasuwa and Nuwakot


On the occasion, Speaker Ghimire recalled the contributions made by Pandit in the district's education and left-democratic movement.


Nepali Congress central committee leader Arjun Nara Singh KC, Maoist Centre leaders Hit Bahadur Tamang, Bimala Tamang and other politicians were also present during the event.
