Eight killed in jeep accident in Ghandruk

POKHARA, Oct 11: Eight people, including the driver were killed when a jeep heading to Ghandruk from Pokhara met with an accident at Kalabhir of Ghandruk.

POKHARA, Oct 11: Eight people, including the driver were killed when a jeep heading to Ghandruk from Pokhara met with an accident at Kalabhir of Ghandruk.

The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6900) leaving for Ghandruk from Harichowk in Pokhara on Monday afternoon met with an accident at around 2.30 PM. According to DSP Subash Hamal of District Police Office, Kaski, there were nine passengers onboard the jeep. One person has sustained minor injuries. He said that eight others were seriously injured.


However, according to locals, eight people died on the spot. Police and locals are working to rescue the injured persons. Further details of those injured are yet to be received.             According to a local Kisam Gurung, the ill-fated jeep fell 100 meters off the road. According to him, Ghandruk village can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot from the accident site.
