Elderly woman dies in accident at Suryabinayak

BHAKTAPUR, Sept 22: A 72-year-old woman died after being hit by a tourist bus at Suryabinayak Chowk in Bhaktapur on Thursday. Dilmaya Shrestha, 72, of Dudhpati, Bhaktapur Municipality Ward no 1, died during her treatment after being hit by a tourist bus (Ba 1 Pa1551) on the way to Jagati from Sallaghari along the Araniko Highway.

BHAKTAPUR, Sept 22: A 72-year-old woman died after being hit by a tourist bus at Suryabinayak Chowk in Bhaktapur on Thursday. Dilmaya Shrestha, 72, of Dudhpati, Bhaktapur Municipality Ward no 1, died during her treatment after being hit by a tourist bus (Ba 1 Pa1551) on the way to Jagati from Sallaghari along the Araniko Highway.

According to Metropolitan Police Complex Bhaktapur, Shrestha, who was seriously injured after the accident, was taken to the nearby Dr Iwamura Memorial Hospital for consultation. Raju Pandey, Information Officer for the Complex, said that she died during treatment.


It is said that a police team including an investigation officer has been dispatched to the scene of the incident and preliminary investigation has been carried out. The bus and driver Binod Karki, 29, of Sindhupalchok Chautara Sangachok Gadhi municipality ward no 1, currently residing in Balaju, Kathmandu, has been taken under the control of Police Complex Jagati. Further investigation is underway in connection with the incident.
