Election candidates must clear all tax dues and arrears and must not be PR holders of foreign countries: EC

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: The Election Commission (EC) has asked the candidates filing their nominations for the upcoming House of Representatives and provincial assembly to clear all tax dues and arrears.

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: The Election Commission (EC) has asked the candidates filing their nominations for the upcoming House of Representatives and provincial assembly to clear all tax dues and arrears.



Issuing a public notice on Friday, the EC has maintained that the candidates must clear all advances that they have taken from the state coffers. Similarly, the candidates should self-declare to have cleared all the arrears, if there is any.

Likewise, the candidates must not have taken a diversity visa or permanent residence visa of any foreign country.  The EC has set a deadline of Sunday for the candidates to file their nominations.
