Wild elephant terrorizes Saptari, death toll reaches two (update)

RAJBIRAJ, April 4: Wild elephant from Koshi Wildlife Reserve terrorized locals at Hunumannagar Bazaar area of Saptari district on Tuesday morning and killed two.

RAJBIRAJ, April 4: Wild elephant from Koshi Wildlife Reserve terrorized locals at Hunumannagar Bazaar area of Saptari district on Tuesday morning and killed one.



 An elephant entered into the town area at 9 Am in the morning. Seven people sustained injuries in their attempt to chase away the elephant. Among them, Raushan Jha and Sanjay Safi succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.

Other two people are seriously injured. According to Raju Sharma, a local, Sanjeev Sah and Kali Charan Saha are also taken to Dharan.


According to DSP Laxmiraj Adhikari at the District Police Office, a wild elephant entered into the town and terrorized locals but the police and locals succeeded in chasing it away later. The elephant has reached at Bhardaha Bazaar now.
