Ex- PM Bista cremated

KATHMANDU, Nov 11:  Last rites of former Prime Minister Kirti Nidhi Bista were performed at the local Pashupati Aryaghat as per the Hindu rituals on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Nov 11:  Last rites of former Prime Minister Kirti Nidhi Bista were performed at the local Pashupati Aryaghat as per the Hindu rituals on Saturday. 



Former Prime Ministers Lokendra Bahadur Chand and Madhav Kumar Nepal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party chair and sitting Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa, among other political figures were at the Pashupati Aryaghat to pay last tribute to the late Bista.

The 91-year-old former Prime Minister had been long suffering from stomach cancer for long and passed away at his private residence in Gyaneshwor at 10:00 am today. He is survived by two sons and three daughters. 


Bista's one son passed away two years ago. Born in Thamel, Kathmandu in 1927, he had served as the Prime Minister of Nepal thrice and was the vice-chair in the government led by the then King Gyanendra Shah, the last king of the Shah dynasty. 


 He is considered as a leader with moral values in the Nepali politics.
