Extraction of river products from Narayani river continues unabated

NAWALPARASI, April 12: Illegal mining of river products has continued unabated in the Narayani River from Nawalparasi side. Locals complained that the concerned authority is exercising silence even when the river products are being unlawfully extracted and exported to India.

NAWALPARASI, April 12: Illegal mining of river products has continued unabated in the Narayani River from Nawalparasi side. Locals complained that the concerned authority is exercising silence even when the river products are being unlawfully extracted and exported to India.

The illegally mined river products are being supplied to India due to open border. The smugglers are taking out river products such as pebbles, gravels and sand everyday despite legal restriction in doing so, complained Suraj Kewat, a local.


With the rise in smuggling of river products, the task of preliminary environmental assessment was initiated as part of the quotation process, said Ram Prasad Pandey, Chairperson of Susta rural municipality.  RSS
