KATHMANDU, Feb 16: A female police constable on duty was shot dead in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Dang on Thursday evening.
According to Chief District Officer Ram Bandhu Subedi, Dhanmaya Gurung, who was on duty at Damodar Chowk of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolis, was shot dead.
She was taken to Rapti Institute of Health Sciences for treatment where she was declared dead by the doctors.
APF Constable shot dead in Dang
Chief of Lumbini Province Police Office, Kuber Kadayat said that Dhanmaya was shot by her husband, Assistant Constable Yam Bahadur Jhakri.
Yama Bahadur, who works at the training center in Nepalgunj, reportedly arrived in Ghorahi on Thursday and killed his wife.
CDO Subedi said that Yam Bahadur, who shot his wife and ran away, was arrested by the police near Arjun Khola in Lamahi.
The reason for the murder is not yet known and an investigation is ongoing, said Kadayat, chief of the Lumbini Province Police Office.
