An opposition alliance comprising the NC, the CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UML’s Madhav Nepal faction, Upendra Yadav-led faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) held an interaction program at the Federal Parliament Building with civil society leaders and intellectuals on Monday.

On the occasion, Deuba also argued that all the unconstitutional appointments made in the constitutional bodies without parliamentary hearing should be scrapped. “Those appointments will be annulled also by omitting the provision that allows ‘automatic appointments' in case a hearing can not be held,” he said.

Also speaking at the program, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that parliament, which was dissolved on May 22, is likely to be reinstated by the court. “However, we are still not convinced,” he said ,adding that they should stay alert.

Madhav Nepal, a senior leader of the UML said that he would stay intact with the alliance in a bid to safeguard the democracy.
