CHITWAN, Jan 27: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said his party was making efforts to finalize unity with the UML before the formation of the new government.

During a press meet organized by Press Centre Chitwan on Saturday, Chairman Dahal reiterated, "It's normal the new government would be formed. But the party wants to have unity between the two parties before the government formation."

He further said personally he was for the party unity before government because it would be the respect to the people's mandate. It also reflects the commitment made before people, the Chairman underscored.

However, the party would reach a conclusion on it in a day or two, according to him. The Chairman informed that the new government would be formed in the second week of Falgun.

He criticized the current government, saying that it has made serious mistakes with various decisions. Its decisions have debunked its character.

Making comment about government's decision of declaring martyrs to those killed in Badarmude carnage, Maoist Centre Chairman Prachanda said it was not a good trend to announce martyrs by every government arbitrarily. "Setting criteria is imperative before declaring any martyrs," he argued.

He expressed the belief that the Madhes centric parties would also join the new government.
