Five held with narcotics at Nagdhunga checkpoint

KATHMADU, Jan 23: Police have arrested five people in possession of narcotics during a security check at Nagdhunga checkpoint while they were coming into the Kathmandu Valley from Birgunj and Kapilvastu.

KATHMADU, Jan 23: Police have arrested five people in possession of narcotics during a security check at Nagdhunga checkpoint while they were coming into the Kathmandu Valley from Birgunj and Kapilvastu.



The arrested are 22-year-old Bijaya Bharati of Gokaneshwar Municipality-7, Kathmandu, Abhinash Yadav, 18, of Pokhariya Municipality-4, Parsa, Sudip Thakuri and Rajgiri, 21, of Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu and Ramesh Tamang, 18, of Dadhing.

During the security check, police seized 225 ampoules of Nurofen, 525 ampoules Phenargan, 525 ampoules of diazepam, 150 tablets of nitravet and 815 grams of hashish.


Police said they are investigating the case after taking the arrested into custody.
