KATHMANDU, April 6: Kishor Pradhan, a candidate for the post of senior vice-president in the upcoming election of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has accused the incumbent president and senior vice-president of violating the election code of conduct.
Organizing a press meet on Wednesday, Pradhan said the duo not only breached the election code of conduct but also tarnished the image of the FNCCI. He also questioned on what grounds were President Pashupati Murarka and Senior Vice-President Bhawani Rana openly favoring his competitor Shekhar Golchha.

Murarka and Rana have publicly announced that they will back Golchha’s panel.
Golchha has filed nomination for the post of senior vice-president. Dinesh Shrestha, Umesh Lal Shrestha and Chandra Dhakal are the other candidates for three posts of vice-president in his panel.
The annual general meeting FNCCI to be held on April 10 and 11 will elevate Rana to the post of president of the leading professional body of Nepali private sector.
Pradhan also blamed the incumbent FNCCI leadership of weakening the institution.
“How will the new leadership under Rana work if Golchha’s panel is defeated in the election?” Pradhan questioned.
Pramod Shrestha and Shankar Prasad Pandey are the other candidates for the posts of vice-president from Pradhan’s panel.
