Foodstuff distributed to TB patients

TIKAPUR, Oct 20: Tikapur Municipality of Kailali district has distributed foodstuff to the people suffering from tuberculosis (TB). A dozen such people were provided rice, lentil, sugar, eggs and other food items considering the nutrition they need for health.

TIKAPUR, Oct 20: Tikapur Municipality of Kailali district has distributed foodstuff to the people suffering from tuberculosis (TB). A dozen such people were provided rice, lentil, sugar, eggs and other food items considering the nutrition they need for health.



The food was distributed in view of the Dashain festival, according to the municipality.

Coordinator of the public health promotion section at the municipality, Bal Bahadur Rawal, said that the local government had planned to distribute food grains and other daily essentials to as many as 102 TB patients. The local government has been conducting various programs to completely free the municipality from tuberculosis.


The municipality recorded 176 tuberculosis patients last year. Similarly, the poor and sick ones are provided food grains and daily essentials by the municipality. Last year, 102 such persons were distributed food stuff, Rawal added.


Moreover, TB patients are provided skill-oriented training and public health awareness.
