Former Minister of State Lama reaches CIB office to meet Bamjan

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Former Minister of State Yashoda Kumari Lama has reached the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) office to meet Ram Bahadur Bamjan, who was arrested in Kathmandu on Tuesday on charges of murder, kidnapping and sexual violence. She defended Bamjan, claiming that he had become a victim of false publicity.

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Former Minister of State Yashoda Kumari Lama has reached the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) office to meet Ram Bahadur Bamjan, who was arrested in Kathmandu on Tuesday on charges of murder, kidnapping and sexual violence. She defended Bamjan, claiming that he had become a victim of false publicity.



Bamjan was arrested by the CIB team from Budhanilkantha on Tuesday. To meet Bamjan, his followers, led by the Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangh, reached the CIB office in large numbers. Former state minister Lama is also in this team.

Lama became Minister of State in the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in 2074 BS.


A huge crowd formed when Bamjan’s followers reached the CIB office in large numbers to meet him. Then they were removed by the police. His followers were sent by the police to the open space of the Kanti Cultural Center near the CIB office.


Police are also deployed in considerable numbers. The CIB is preparing to hold a press conference and provide detailed information about him at 1 PM.
