Rajbiraj, March 10: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) cadres last night torched a bus for defying the general strike in front of the industrial corridor in Rajbiraj.

The bus (Ma 5 Kha 6713) heading towards Rajbiraj from Rupani was completely burnt in the incident, District Police Office, Saptari said.

The UDMF has called an indefinite strike in Saptari to protest the death of its cadres in police firing. The UDMF cadres and police clashed on Monday when the former were trying to disrupt the Mechi – Mahakali National Campaign of the second largest party – CPN (UML) – at the Gajendranarayan Singh Industrial Corridor.

Meanwhile, disruption of the normal life has continued on the fifth consecutive day of the indefinite strike called by the Front. The educational institutes, factories, marketplaces and transportation has shutdown. RSS
