Gas cylinder explosion in Kapilvastu claims one life

KAPILVASTU, Jan 16: A balloon trader died when the gas cylinder used to inflate the balloons exploded at the Maghi festival site located in Kapil Dham, Banganga Municipality Ward No 9 of Kapilvastu.

KAPILVASTU, Jan 16: A balloon trader died when the gas cylinder used to inflate the balloons exploded at the Maghi festival site located in Kapil Dham, Banganga Municipality Ward No 9 of Kapilvastu.



Nasir Mohammad, 65, of Banganga Municipality Ward No 8 Balapur died on Monday at around 3:30 pm when a gas cylinder suddenly exploded, said Police Inspector Deepak Babu KC of Area Police Office Pipara.

Mohammad, like any other balloon trader, was running a gas cylinder to inflate the balloons at the Maghi festival site, which was organized by the Tharu Kalyankari Sabha at the Kapil dham on Monday, when the explosion took place. Saed Pakhiya, the assistant of the deceased trader, was slightly injured in the incident. He is being treated at a community hospital in Jitpur. SP KC said that the incident is being investigated.
