Gautam Buddha Int’l Airport construction gains momentum

BUTWAL, June 18: The construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport based in Bhairahawa has gained moment.



Around 45 percent work of the airport construction has been completed which had been stalled under various pretexts before.


The construction of runway, terminal building, control tower and parking lot for aircraft is taking place fast.

Over 200 workers including 70 to 80 Chinese technicians are working at the construction site.


Currently, the base course work of the runway is being carried out after completing sub-grade and sub-base works, said Chief Engineer of the airport construction project Om Sharma.


According to him, blacktopping will begin after four months and will be completed within nine months.
