Girl killed after being shot by  hunter in Kalikot

KATHMANDU, June 4: A 17-year-old girl from Naraharinath Rural Municipality-5, Rupsa in  Kalikot district succumbed due to bullet injury on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, June 4: A 17-year-old girl from Naraharinath Rural Municipality-5, Rupsa in  Kalikot district succumbed due to bullet injury on Sunday.



Alisha Sahakari was injured by a local hunter while she was threshing corn in a corn field on June 2.

She was initially taken to a local health post at Kumalgaun, and was then referred to the provincial hospital in Surkhet after it was not possible to treat her in the village. She died in the course of treatment in Surkhet on Sunday, said Netraraj Bogati, a local resident of Rupsa. Bogati said that he did not know the name of the shooter.


According to Bogati, a local of Rupsa shot at a dove with a gun where the victim girl was threshing corn but the bullet hit her on the head. Postmortem of Sahakari was done on Sunday itself.


District Police Office Kalikot said that the police are investigating the incident. According to Police Inspector Subha Raj Bam, they have launched a manhunt to nab the hunter.
