KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Global IME Bank has said that it has collaborated with MasterCard to introduce MasterCard’s Issuer and Acquirer processing services in Nepal.
Issuing a statement, the commercial bank said that its senior deputy CEO Janak Sharma Poudyal on Monday signed an agreement with Narendra Nandal, Senior Business Leader, Processing solutions of South Asia, MasterCard.

According to the statement, the platform, which enters the Nepali market for the first time, will enable Global IME Bank to provide more secure payment programs for their customers with greater speed and convenience.
“As part of the partnership, MasterCard will provide Global IME Bank with a suite of fully-hosted processing services that support major payment brands,” reads the statement. “The partnership between Global IME bank and MasterCard will also include credit, debit and payment card issuance, as part of efforts to help drive cashless payments in the market,” it added.
