It was immoral for govt to increase price of petroleum products: Sunuwar

KATHMANDU, June 3: CPN-UML lawmaker Yagya Raj Sunuwar has said that the government has committed an immoral act by increasing the price of petroleum products.



MP Sunuwar also said that the price hike was illegal, supporting the proposal of urgent public importance regarding the price hike of petroleum products in the House of Representatives meeting on Friday. Stating that many questions and doubts have arisen regarding the price hike, he mentioned that a parliamentary committee is needed to investigate it.


Similarly, supporting the proposal of urgent public importance, CPN-UML lawaker Ganesh Pahadi said that the price hike was done in violation of the provisions of the prevailing law. He said that the rise in prices of various food and other items was also due to the rise in the prices of petroleum products. He said that the government has become useless as it has not conducted any market monitoring programs.
