Govt has no policy to leave behind community radios: DPMr Paudel

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has made it clear that the government has not followed the policy to leave behind community radios.

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has made it clear that the government has not followed the policy to leave behind community radios. 



Addressing a program organized on the occasion of World Radio Day on Monday. Minister Paudel said that the government has not adopted a policy of leaving behind community radio even today and that it will not adopt any such policy even in the future.

Minister Poudel said that community radios should not be left behind and one should broadcast their programs and news in community radios. He urged them to come to the ministry for discussion in a representative manner to solve the problems related to renewal, registration and taxation of community radios. 


Minister Poudel said that the problems related to FM radios can be solved through negotiation. "The government does not pursue a policy to leave community radio behind. Please be clear about this,” he said. “What happens later is not the responsibility of the government. This is the responsibility of the people here.” 


Poudel said that the message that Nepal is a zone of peace should be spread all over the world through radios. He said that it is necessary to move forward by healing the wounds of armed conflict in the recent past and pursue a policy of reconciliation.
