Govt likely to raise elderly allowance: Yogesh Bhattarai

TAPLEJUNG, Sept 1: Parliamentarian Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, who also is a central committee member of Nepal Communist Party said that the government was likely to increase elderly allowance to Rs. 5,000 before Dashain festival.

At a press meet at the district's headquarter, Fungling, Bhattarai had said that while a decision was already reached, the raise now rested on an approval from the cabinet of ministers.  He said while the government could not do so in its budget, the government was willing to increase the allowances under a special provision by the cabinet of ministers.
