PALPA, Sept 4: The government is expected to invite different armed groups that are active in the country for a dialogue. To do so, the government has formed a committee headed by parliamentarian Som Prasad Pandey, former Minister of Industry to identify dissatisfied groups.
"So far, the government has identified Biplav led Maoists, Goit group in Terai, Maoist Communist Center in Palpa and CK Raut's group among others," Pandey said in his interaction with journalists in Palpa. The government has identified 23 rebel groups and parties that are spreading violence across the country.

He added that the government was willing to ink an agreement with the armed groups to "curb violence and protests to head towards peaceful process." He added that the government had been identifying all groups that were threatening the state's security.
The team has been given three months time to initiate and conclude its work, a task that Pandey is hopeful to complete. "The short duration won't be of concern as we'll work efficiently," he said as he expressed hopes that all armed groups would come for talks.
The parliamentarian added that the arrest of more than 100 cadres of Biplav lead Nepal Communist Party should not be politicized. "They have been arrested for various crimes," he said.
