KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakashman Singh has said that the government should pay special attention to the development of sports.

Inaugurating the 'National Tennis Tournament-2021' organized by Bir Ganeshman Singh Sports Committee in the capital on Tuesday, leader Singh said that the government should pay special attention to the development of sports as it helps people to stay healthy, thereby contributing to the development of the country.  "Such competitions will help produce national and international-level players in the coming days," he said.

The NC leader further said that the role played by Ganeshman Singh for the establishment of democracy and citizen's supremacy in Nepal for six decades is exemplary. Arguing that late Singh’s decision to reject the post of prime minister saying a leader elected from the people would lead the government was a great achievement, leader Singh opined that one should learn from Ganeshman Singh in the present situation where leaders are fighting for power and positions.
