Govt steps up efforts to tackle malnutrition

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The government  has decided to take further steps to solve the problem of malnutrition in the country.

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The government  has decided to take further steps to solve the problem of malnutrition in the country.



According to a press statement issued by the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Friday, the government is set to prepare a report detailing the effectiveness of and ways to improve its various programs such as nutrition support program, golden 1000 days, child grants program and day snacks program.

A working committee chaired by the Ministry of Health and including representatives from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance will submit the report within 15 days.


The statement adds that its plan to tackle malnutrition includes further enhancement of the nutrition support program running under Health Ministry and other ministries for the deprived children in the districts with lowest human development index.
