Govt to prioritize health infrastructure and essential goods: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government has prioritized the procurement of health materials and oxygen to control the risk of COVID-19 inside the country.

KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government has prioritized the procurement of health materials and oxygen to control the risk of COVID-19 inside the country. 



Speaking at a virtual meet organized by President Joe Biden of the US on the occasion of ‘Global COVID-19 Summit’, PM Deuba informed them about the continuous efforts made by Nepal to get vaccines against the deadly virus.

“We have prioritized awareness programs in the public health sector to spread information on ways to be safe from COVID-19,” PM Deuba said. He also informed that 50 percent of the population inside the country have received their first dose of vaccine against COVID-19 while a quarter of the population have already been administered their second dose as well. He also said that all the eligible citizens of Nepal will receive their first dose of the vaccine by March 2022. 


PM Deuba also said that the rural areas of the country have received access to testing and vaccines against COVID-19. Furthermore, PM Deuba thanked all foreign countries and partners for their support and contribution to control and prevent COVID-19.
