KATHMANDU, June 27: Various stakeholders have said that the enforcement of grading system in SLC without adequate preparation has increased confusion among students and guardians.
At a face-to-face programme organized here on Monday by Reporters' Club Nepal, NPABSON's former Chairperson and lawmaker Geeta Rana said though the grading is a system through which the students assess their strengths themselves it would not advance the quality of education.
"The existing Grading System could not yield good results as it should be of four years from grade 9 to 12 rather than mreley of a year", she added.
Joint Secretary at Education Ministry Dr Labadev Awasthi however claimed that the system has been in place to assess capacity of students as it was enforced in SLC after testing in technical education.
Higher Secondary Teachers Union Chairperson Ramesh Silwal said inadequate ground work on grading system has invited confusion adding the provision that those receiving 'D' and 'E' grade would not be allowed for further education has created problem.
NPABSOn Chairperson Karna Bahadur Shahi lambasted the introduction of the grading system on whims underscoring th need to put in place the system from grade 9.
