HAN submits memorandum to tourism minister

KATHMANDU, March 24: Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has submitted a 16-point memorandum to newly appointed minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, on Thursday. A team lead by Amar Man Shakya, president of HAN, submitted the memorandum to minister Adhikari.

KATHMANDU, March 24: Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has submitted a 16-point memorandum to newly appointed minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, on Thursday. A team lead by Amar Man Shakya, president of HAN, submitted the memorandum to minister Adhikari. 



Explaining the contribution of HAN in the country's hospitality sector and current situation of tourism industry, president Shakya requested the minister to bring suitable policies for the development of tourism sector.

According to a statement issued on Thursday, the memorandum has included the issues regarding improvement in both road and air connectivity to bring more tourists from India, China and other countries.  


Similarly, the HAN delegates requested the minister to expedite the works of under-construction Bhairahawa and Pokhara airports. The team further requested the minister to bring investment-friendly policies for the tourism sector. They also urged the minister to support them on 'Campaign to Globalize Nepalese Heritage Cuisine', an initiative of the association. 


Furthermore, the HAN team briefed the minister on the possibilities of meeting, incentives, conferencing, and exhibition (MICE) tourism among other tourism potentials. 


In response to the HAN memorandum, minister Adhikari committed to work with both long-term and short-term goals for the development of the country's tourism industry.
